Karti is a semi-arid country on the western shores of the Ozmo Sea, forming part of the central-western littoral of the region.

==== Location and borders ====

Karti lies west of the Ozmo Sea. It shares land borders with [[countries:rakshaw|Rakshaw]] to the northwest and Baksi to the south. [[countries:molbra|Molbra]] lies immediately to the east across a narrow strait and shallow bays.

==== Geography ====

The country consists predominantly of sandy and steppe-like plateaus with low relief. Coastal areas feature broad, shallow shelves and small inlets; inland terrain is dry with sparse vegetation.

==== Major settlements ====

Meppo is the principal city shown, located in southern Karti, inland from the coast. It functions as a hub on the north–south overland corridor linking [[countries:rakshaw|Rakshaw]] and Baksi.

==== Transport and maritime access ====

Karti has direct access to the Ozmo Sea via its eastern littoral and through the narrow channel facing Molbra, a regional chokepoint for trade.

==== Political and security climate ====

The Presidency rules through a centralized party apparatus, internal security, and patronage with industrial bosses. Public spaces are grand and stage-managed; surveillance is ubiquitous. Elections are choreographed; opposition exists mostly in exile or encrypted chats.

==== Economy and exports ====

Coal from the southeast fields and cobalt from Almazar’s belt drive foreign currency earnings. Zorinsk is the export choke point; Meppo allocates revenues and contracts; Almazar shoulders the environmental and social burden.

==== Social fabric ====

Loyalist youth brigades and trade unions are visible in parades; independent unions are suppressed. Elite zones—waterfront villas, fenced dachas, and tower condos—sit apart from workers’ housing and informal hillsides.

==== Infrastructure ====

Rail is the state’s backbone—mine to port to power plant. Roads are serviceable on showcase axes, potholed elsewhere. Utility reliability is best in Meppo’s core and elite precincts; rolling outages hit worker districts and settlements.
